School Program

Prevention and intervention of youth violence are essential to the core goals of the KAVI program. The programs consist of weekly workshops and activities that focus on:
  • Identity Exploration
  • Self-Governing
  • Conflict Resolution and Communication
  • Peer Mediation
  • Goal Development and Critical Thinking
  • Life Skills Development
  • Fitness
Our staff includes outreach workers that are familiar with the inherent challenges of life in central Brooklyn. These workers- many of whom were gang-affiliated at some point in their lives- are highly trained and motivated to help young people that demonstrate one or more risk factors associated with violent injury. KAVI currently has programs at the High School for International Arts and Business and the High School for Public Service.
